Morrison Scholarship Award Terms and Conditions
By accepting the Morrison Scholarship Award, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
The Morrison Scholarship (MS) reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, amend or cancel its Scholarship Award (the “Award”) at any time without notice.
The MS shall have full discretion to decide all questions regarding the awarding of scholarships and the administration of the terms and conditions of the Award.
Applicants shall have no claim against the MS on the basis of the failure to award a scholarship, or the MS's evaluation of applications.
All scholarship recipients (“Recipient”) must agree to these terms and conditions in order to receive the scholarship.
The following persons are NOT eligible to receive a scholarship: Award applicants (“Applicants”) who provide false information to the MS at any time
To be eligible for a scholarship, Applicants must: a) be enrolled at a university or college level (Approved School), and b) be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
The Recipient is responsible for securing admission to an Approved School of their choice, in accordance with the requirements and deadlines of the school.
The Award will have a value of $3,000.00 CAD on the following conditions: a) The Recipient meets the requirements for the award.
The Award will be paid in two installments of $1,500.00, with the first being upon receipt of the recipient’s High School Transcript and Post-Secondary acceptance, and not later than September 1, 2025. The second payment will be made on January 1, 2026 and on the following conditions: a) continued enrollment in a post-secondary institution for the Winter 2026 semester.
A Recipient must: a) attend an Approved School on a full-time basis (as defined by the school); b) be enrolled in a course of study leading to a certificate, diploma or degree (college or undergraduate); and c) attend all courses on a regular basis. Recipients may change disciplines, programs and/or approved schools during the scholarship term.
Recipients may defer their studies for up to one year. Recipients who fail to return to school after a one-year deferment or who drop out of school will forfeit the scholarship.
The scholarship may be terminated at any time by the MS upon the occurrence of any behaviour on the part of the Recipient that the MS, in its sole discretion, deems inappropriate, including but not limited to any misconduct or criminal behaviour.
All Recipients are responsible for informing themselves of the tax consequences of receiving the scholarship. It is the recipient’s responsibility to file the scholarship as income on their income tax. If the recipient is enrolled full-time, the Award may qualify for a tax-free exemption. Recipients agree to have their name published and associated with the scholarship, including on social media and the MS website, in accordance with the MS’s Privacy Policy.
Recipients agree to write a short testimonial in support of the scholarship, and to assist with the promotion of the Award the following year.
